Surprisingly good
I have Maltese and a Yorkie, each weighing about 7 pounds. The size 12 coat fit each perfectly. One dog is 12" from neck to base of tail, and the other is around 13". They look cute and at least their bodies are protected from the rain. The hood is more of a design feature when used with a leash. The coat has a little fleece-like lining which helps keep the dogs warm. I am completely pleased with the price and the coat. Many coats cost much, much more for not much better quality.
Quality fine, but bigger than expected
I thought the 12" length listed measured from nose to rear and from the description that it would fit. It was too big for my Russian Toy. Both too big around and rather long. Would also be too big for a chihuahua, or small yorkie. If there were a hole for a harness that would let in water, so I think it is best without it. I had the jacket altered and put the harness over the jacket. Thought it was a good buy, but the alterations cost more than the jacket. The hood is detachable, which is good because it covers my dog's entire head, eyes and nose included and he can't wear it. Cleans up well, is colorfast, and keeps him dry on top. Underneath he gets filthy because there is only a belly band. The band is good though, because if it were bigger, he probably wouldn't want to wear it, because he doesn't like anything restrictive. It would be good if the manufacturer listed the circumference. I would, but I thought of it too late.
I would be willing to try other products by this...
Price is Right
"Price was right at $6 + change but shipping nearly same cost as jacket. Thought it was thick/warm but outer material quite thin, as is interior fleece lining, and there's no harness hole - leash must be connected to a collar via opening underneath hood (could rip the material) or must put harness OVER jacket. Tested waterproof ability and passed with flying colors. Good value for what it is."
